Hi there, i have an Advent Eclipse E300. Good working order for past 2 years, suddenly screen is black with multicoloured horizontal lines. Screen is visible when I hold/flex the screen. Could this be some kind of loose connection? Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi. It could be a faulty cable. Those lines could be from a damaged screen. Does the lines go away at any point?

Yes the lines do go away when i flex the screen. I can just about use it if i hold the screen firmly at a certain angle. Thanks for responding

I think it must be either a faulty cable, a loose connector or some other type of poor electrical contact. It is possible to disassemble the screen and check for faults of this type but that's really a job for an expert. You could, if you wish, place a job request via the PCIQ web site.

Alan, Another possibility is a crack on the circuit board at the back of the screen. I have seen screens with hairline cracks where the picture comes and goes as you flex the screen. Usually that means a new LCD.

The good news is that a replacement screen for that isn't very expensive - see

The bad news is that - according to UKTSupport - its really a Shuttle A13IV model.
That means no tech support, no manual downloads, no tech support from the builders
If you decide to try to replace the screen you'll have to guess how to do it yourself - or pay someone to do it for you
