impossible to diagnose without more details or without seeing it.
do you see anything at all as it initially starts up?

Nothing. It goes to a black screen and a little white horizontal line flashes in the top, left hand corner sometimes. Everything internally is working, like the fan, battery, etc.

I tried Alt and F10, and the eRecovery starts but I left it for an hour and a half and I had to turn it off or it would over heat (it was very hot)

It could be that your hard drive is faulty. In a way that's a good thing because it is usually economic to replace a faulty hard drive whereas some of the other things that give you a black screen would render your computer a write-off. If you have tried e-recovery then I think you have already erased any files you had stored on the computer. You need a Professional who can replace the hard drive (if that really is the problem) and re-install Windows.

so....if you can start e-recovery presumably you are actually seeing something on the screen at startup? Even if its just black and white writing?
