Removing XP

Removing XP

I have a dual boot system with Win7 on one partition and XP on another.

With the imminent demise of security updates for XP what is the best way of removing it from my PC?

Is there a way to uninstall it or do I just delete the XP Windows folder?

Thanks in advance.

Paul

RE: Removing XP

hi
please confirm which drive is Xp On there after you can log in to win7 as Admin and Format the partition and remove the dual boot option from boot menu in windows .
that's if you need the drive to be cleared
prioritising the windows or removing prompt of other windows can be done from my computer/properties/advance system setting /start-up and recovery
in windows 7
hope that helps or reply

RE: Removing XP

Imagine you had an old car, you took it into the garage and they said: "Your car is so old now, we will service it this one last time but not in future". You could continue to drive the car, possibly for many years but if it did go wrong you would have to try to fix it yourself. That is pretty much the situation XP is in now, it had that one last service on 8th April but there will never be any more. That doesn't mean you will not be able to run it for a few more years, possibly without encountering any problems. Don't be panicked by organizations that have a vested interest in selling you new software and hardware.

If, on the other hand, you just needed a push to remove an old copy of XP you never use, then follow Masood's advice.
