Advent 5611

My Advent 5611 freezes about 0 mins after I switch it on, I can't do anything apart from switching te laptop off and switching it on again. I can't see for any reason why this happens. What could the problem be. I am running Windows Vista 32 bit.

at a guess overheating / fan failure though it could be almost any of the hardware failed
Its worth trying to make sure the memory is seated correctly
if the "0 mins" is a misprint and you really meant "10" then it could be viral problems

I mean't 20 mins the number 2 doesn't work properly, it happens when I run anti virus scans and defrag.

Could still be overheating, but sounds more like disk problems. Both defrag and AV work the PC fairly hard.

Is the fan working?
