RE: ADVENT AIO 100 cant find drivers for soundcard having a nightmare
THAT question is easy to answer. Advent isn't a real computer manufacturer, it is a name used by DSG Group to re-badge computers from a range of manufacturers. So "Advent" computers are poorly documented and poorly supported.

RE: ADVENT AIO 100 cant find drivers for soundcard having a nightmare
you have to understand the manufacturing chain here
IDT/Sigmatel makes the audio codec chips and sell them to the motherboard manufacturers. The m/b makers assemble the chips in accordance with a master specification guided by information from Intel (Intel supplied the rest of the motherboard chipsets) BUT they tweak the chips to optimize performance - and in so doing often need dedicated drivers. In the case of a machine like this, the motherboard would have been a "bitza" from some no-name Chinese circuit board maker, sold to whoever actually designed and part-assembled the PC (no-one seems to have worked out who yet), then - probably - shipped to a third party european screwdriver plant for final assembly, before being shipped to the DSG group stores
In this case we know its a 92XX chipset from IDT Its a case of trying drivers until you find one that works. The Intel site is the most likely place to find one that works - I'll have another check later. But first - which version of Windows is that machine running?

RE: ADVENT AIO 100 cant find drivers for soundcard having a nightmare
It looks as if Dell use the same chipset in some of their machines. Have you tried the audio drivers for the Dell Inspiron 1440/1545/1750 notebooks?
There should have been a copy of the drivers on the hard disk, or was that lost in a reformat?

Here You Go... (ADVENT AIO-100)
I Copied All Audio Driver Files From An XP Home 32Bit System Using "Driver Genius Pro" & Manually From A VISTA ULTIMATE 32Bit System. ------->
-:Important:- Make Sure In the Vista Folder All Files Are Together When Updating - In Vista...
I Have Put Them In 2 Different Folders To Show The Location From Where They Came On The Computer. ------->
This Should Cover You For Both Operating Systems.
