Sony Via fe41z -three bips and lights nothing in the screen or no disk spinning !!
When I power the laptop I get the following: -three bips and lights on (num locks and cap locks)nothing in the screen or no disk spinning !! Nothing else happening!!

At a guess, it is memory failure. If you are lucky, it will be a failed RAM chip which can be replaced fairly easily and cheaply. If you are not, it will be the memory slot on the motherboard - major job and not cheap.

Hi Alan, thanks for your reply - definitely not the memory - I have try a new one no change!!! Is there a fuse anywhere in the main board? I can hear the fan and main board is okay, I can see he lights !!

The three bips are probably a code ("beep code") indicating the failure mode. This web site http://www.biosbeeps.com/sony-vaio-bios-beep-codes.html suggests what different beep codes mean. The only three beep code (one long, two short) indicates a video controller failure.
