laptop on and off

sir, I have hp compact 6220, window xp professional p 2. Processor 2 gb , ram 512. It will on for 10 minute and off , on again and off .I repair the xp but the problem remain the same. Help sir.

It could be overheating. Some HP machines had a problem with this.

Otherwise, does it give any reasons, either when it shuts down, or when you restart it?
