Knackered Hard drive

Hello guys,

My laptop hard drive has failed so am looking to replace it. I have a Dell 1545.

What is the largest drive i could get and which manufacturer makes the most reliable drives?

Thanks for your help guys.

RE: Knackered Hard drive

then almost any SATA drive should work - I'm not aware of any BIOS limitations, though you should check the Dell manuals online to be certain. The limit really is what you can afford
As to reliability, not many people making laptop drives nowadays. If you stick to Seagate or Western Digital you should be OK

RE: Knackered Hard drive

I've seen 3 knackered drives over the last few months, all of them "Western Digital Blue" both 2.5" and 3.5" only 2 or 3 years old. I supplied Seagates as replacements!
