When I start my computer it goes "tikka tikka tikka" and the cursers keeps moving

I first noticed this strange behaviour when I went to change the volume on Media Player. I increased the sound then it reduced to nothing all on its own. I increased again ... and it reduced to zero.

I then used the keyboard to progress through the menus and it constantly moves back and forth up and down etc. Very annoying. I went to the START and up through menu and it zipped about all on its own.

I have restarted my machine without the mouse and keyboard and things seem ok but as soon I attempt to reconnect them the curser keeps moving.

I have updated the logitec software.

I have checked connections in the tower.

I have gone into the BIOS and the behaviour remains. I did also get a blue screen telling me to go to my vendor or www.hardware-update.com to update my BIOS. Is the BIOS really doing this?

I realise the first thing you might say is that are there any keys on the keyboard that may be causing this. Well I have checked and they seem fine. But I does stop when the keyboard and mouse isnt attached.

Is this a virus, and out of date BIOS? a driver issue? Please HELP!! thanks

I have noticed that there is a tikka tikka tikka sound when the computer boots up. This isn't normal.

RE: When I start my computer it goes

Well I tried an old mouse and no keyboard and the computer appears to be working ok ... so far (I have not attached a keyboard yet). I think its evident that the current keyboard may need replacing, like you said. Sorry to have troubled you.

Not sure about the BIOS thing, must have been a coincidence. Will check it out though.

Thanks

RE: When I start my computer it goes

1) forget the BIOS. thats a misdirection

2) uninstall the logitech mouse/key software, especially "Logitech Desktop Messenger" You don't need it and it slows the system down badly. Won't cure the current problem, but may improve the machine performance overall

Be wary of Riandave R's suggestion of - that posting is a con.

They have support forums - at a price - where you can get help. That is what you get here for free.
