ACER 1640Z

I have a number of errot messages that keep popping up; firstly. on boot up it says - Load DLL Hook Load Failed.

Other error messages include:

A runtime error has occurred do yoy wish you debug?

Line 7 Error: 'Unidentified' is null or not an object

Line 9 Error: Object doesn't support this property or method.

Line 19 Error Expected ')'

Line 53 Error: Object doesn't support this property or method.

These messages are getting a bit tedious - what is causing the messages and how do I resolve the issues?

Many thanks

RE: ACER 1640Z

It looks like some startup program is failing to load correctly. You could try looking in EventViewer to see if there is any more information.

Have you installed any new programs recently? Perhaps they did not install correctly

RE: ACER 1640Z

Its a guess, but I'd say you have some kind of malware trying to run, but its been partially disabled by your security software

what to do next depends on the version of windows, and just when it happens - but you could start by scanning the machine with Malwarebytes Antimalware

RE: ACER 1640Z

What you are seeing (apart from the boot-up error) is a series of script errors. Have a look at this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308260. You'll see this is about Internet Explorer problems so if you get these messages when you are running Internet Explorer, try following the advice given.

However, don't neglect to follow the advice given by Jon S. ; I agree with his diagnosis.

RE: ACER 1640Z

I totally agree with Jon & Alan re malware. Based on "Load DLL Hook" I'd guess that a rootkit has tried to take hold & is failing, either because you have anti-malware/anti-virus software which is trying to do its job or - as sometimes happens - the malware has a bug in it! Either way, you need to get rid of it fast.
