sorry, but the question in its present format makes no sense Please repost describing what you are trying to do, what is happening, what error messages you are getting, which version of windows you are using, and how you are trying to connect

Assuming that you are running Windows XP, click on the Start button, and select "Connect to". That should offer you an option to add a network connection. Run through that wizard and it should set your PC up for networking. Plug the Ethernet cable into the PC, and after a few seconds it should connect.
If you are running Vista, the process is similar, but the menu option that you chose is called "Network".

Plug in an ethernet cable (looks like a bigger version of the phone socket connections)from your modem or router.
