RE: Vista limited connectivity

Is your computer's internet connection wired or wireless?

Have you tried resetting your broadband modem? (Pull out the power lead for 30 seconds, plug it back in and try to connect to the internet)

Do you have firewall software such as Norton? If you do have Norton then try uninstalling it and then try to connect to the internet.

RE: Vista limited connectivity

its run on a wireless connection through a bt homehub. I do have norton and after reading another forum i binned it, but there still seems to be something left in the control panel that wont go away when i try to uninstall. I have also done the reset that u suggested and still nothing. :(

RE: Vista limited connectivity

I'll lay odds that the Home Hub is broadcasting on Channel 1. They dont seem to work to well if they do
Connect up with a cable, log into the hub and fix it to another channel - preferably one not used by your neighbours. Its probably on "auto" at the moment, which usually means it settles on channel 1

Charlotte, try the instructions here:

... to disable your existing connection and then try to reconnect.
