I am being asked to clear my internet files to connect to a site but iam not sure how to do this. thalternative is to upgrade to internet explorer 7ei but i thought i had explorer please can you help.

There is a widely held view that clearing the cache of temporary internet files can solve browser problems. I have never been sure why this should work and never yet found an instance where it did work for me. However:

Go to Control Panel - Internet Options. When the window opens then you should see an option to delete temporary files.

Yes, you do have Internet Explorer on your computer (which is not the same thing as Explorer, by the way). Internet Explorer comes in several versions. Version 6 enjoyed a good long innings but as of about two years ago has been replaced by version 7. Version 8 is now available for download but not yet available through Windows Update. If you look in Internet Explorer under Help - About Internet Explorer it should say what version you are running.

There is a number of alternative web browsers to Internet Explorer which you can download and install on your PC. Google Chrome is my current favourite.
