Assuming that you are running W2000, XP or Vista, go into Device Manager ( Right click on My Computer, select Manage, then Device Manager. See if they are listed there. If so, but with a red cross or yellow Exclamation mark, right click on the adapter line, select Properties, and Update driver.

If they are not shown, on the Actions menu, select Scan for hardware changes.

what is the model number of the machine?
It will be in the format 123NX123G4 or 123XN123G4
If can give me that, I can tell you what drivers should be required for it

Model number should be on a metallic sticker on the underside. You may also find a makers plate (Time didn't make them) with another model number on - but its really the Time one I need

Etched on to the laptop with all the voltage and ampage is a model number 7321
I have gone into my device manager and my drivers are def missing. cannot update them as the comp will not connect to the internet.
I have tried to download them free from the internet on my other comp, but with no avail, i have spent at least 6 hours trying this and it has got me beat. any help will be muchly appreciated.

thats a rebranded Mitac 7321
you can download an ISO file which contains all the required files from http://www.mitacuk.com/etsc/7321.iso
As far as I can remember we used the Mitac-supplied wireless cards in these. Note some didn;t have cards - they had the ariel loop around the screen, but the actual mini-PCI card was not fitted. If customers complained they were sent a USB (or PCMCIA) wireless dongle. In which case what you have is anyones guess

Note you will need compatible CD burning software to convert the ISO into a disk - either Nero or Roxio should work

RE: i have lost my network adapters on my time mobile amd athlon (tm) laptop. please advise on how i c

just downloaded and opened the ISO, and the ethernet driver is a simple Via 10/100 driver - which should be recognised natively by Windows XP
The G4 ending of the model number indicates the machine is preloaded with XP Home Edition. If its the ethernet drivers that you can't load, I would be inclined to think that the LAN chipset has failed
If its the wireless drivers (if the machine has wireless) then we have a problem. No wireless drivers on the CD, and I dont have documentation to say exactly what was fitted to the NF range, but it was probably only "B" anyway. Simplest way out would be to disable any wireless card in device manager and buy a cheap USB wireless dongle - you can pick them up for £10-15 online

the laptop is not wireless and i have a dongle to connect to the internet, but the laptop will not connect.
I have downloaded the iso file and will convert it when i get a nero programme.
The PCI simple communications controller and the video controller(vga compatible) drivers are also missing.
When i try to connect to the internet, it says i have limited or no connectivity.

OK so it sounds like the machine has has windows reinstalled and is lacking the drivers.
Most of what you need will be on that CD - though the modem drivers probably wont be. Time fitted various ones to the NF - I dont have a record of which went into this particular model, but with Windows XP, windows update should find a driver once you get it online. The network card drivers ARE on the ISO (use the Win2K ones)

sorry - should have made myself clearer
the "PCI simple communications controller" is the modem. Windows update will have a driver for this once you get it online

i know my drivers will update when im online, but the laptop will not connect to the internet !
Not having the pci communcations controller or video controller, will this stop me from connecting to the internet or is that another problem?

the video, sound, chipset and network drivers are all on that ISO image. Install those and everything should work OK except the modem
Lack of a modem will not affect connecting via broadband, and when you do connect Windows update will install that last item for you (note you will need to do a "custom" install, not a "quick" one)
