I was very impressed with the service offered to me in my own home. Mike was very patient with my idiotic questions and I now feel much more confident in using my computer and he solved the problems I was having. I shall certainly be using this service again.

RE: D: is not a valid win32 application

This is a little off topic but just wanted to add a comment about the SP2 and SP3 issues. I have Installed SP2 on hundreds of machines since it was released and not had one issue. However, I have had customers how have reported problems following a SP2 and SP3 installtion. In my experience SP2 & SP3 problems are usually caused when customers install the SP on an already unstable system with virus, spyware or other software/hardware related issue. Every system I personally have done the install on have either been rebuilt due to hardware issue or have recently had system errors repaired or virus/spyware removed and SP's have gone on sweet as a nut.

RE: Administrator Problem

What Operating System is she using? What is her login user name, is it actually 'administrator' or is she just login in with a admin enabled account? Is the PC part of a domain?

RE: Start-up screen

Richard I don't think anyone was under the impression any 'bickering' was going on until you suggested it. We are simply responding to each others suggestions and comments to clarify the situation, identify exactly where the problem is and come up with a suitable resolution. I for one wasn't aware that the Themes in XP could change the boot splash screen. Follwoing Jon's comments I then looked into this more closely and found that if a person modifies the NTOSKRNL.exe using freely available software then resetting the theme will not help. I don't understand how you interpret this as bickering.
